Introductory webinar on the PM-FlexTire sim simulation tool by Pratt Miller, now available through the Altair Partner Alliance.
PM-FlexTire ™ is a finite element flexible tire model integrated with the Altair EDEM sy bulk materials simulation platform ™ . This solution shifts the possibilities of virtual modeling of vehicle movement in the field. PM-FlexTire is the result of a collaboration between Pratt Miller and Altair .
The simulation model provides realistic deformations and highly accurate forces and moments using co-simulations between the Altair EDEM Dis (Discrete Element Method) and the MBD (Multi-body Dynamics, eg Altair MotionSolve ) solver. The model with time-varying tire pressure and detailed interaction between the tire tread and the bulk material makes this solution completely unique.
Users can create their own FE tire models based on CAD models using various pre-processing solutions, including Altair HyperMesh ™ .
